Made another carving knife. My boys entered some knives in a little competition recently, and I made one alongside them to show them how. The blade is 1095 and the handle is mesquite....painted (thought I'd try something different). I'd show my boys' knives too, but they're on display right now and I don't have any pics.

Thanks for the feedback! I gave it a good workout by making a mesquite spoon, and so far I really like it. Mesquite, I don't know what the paint is. It didn't say on the bottle, probably some kind of acrylic. I'll get a photo of the bottle. Bluey, this is my first with the 1095. I want to give it a good workout to see if I have the heat treatment where I want it. Then I hope to make some and put them on my etsy site. They shouldn't be too pricey since they're a pretty basic knife.
