I came across this where a certain animal had a meal.
As I stood there taking a pic, a rushing noise underwater went past me,(I'm assuming the otter) quite loud even though it was made from under the ice. My dog was nosing about nearby and jumped back so I wasn't the only one surprised.
That was the first time I've ever heard that. It was startling since when standing on thin ice, any noise is unwelcome.
The hole in the ice(frozen out now) is where the otter had been going to and fro.
The area in the pic is somewhat larger than what my arms would encircle.
