Black leather sofa

I want to learn leather craft, in our local shop is advertised a black leather 3 seater sofa for £30 would this be a cheap for a load of leather to practise on?. thanks for any answers.

Depends on what you want to make, for soft pouches, drawstring, etc, it would be fine to practice, where as carving tooling woould require a harder thicker leather with these properties, ideally veg/oak tan.
