Eventually finished a weird looking kuksa. Kind of reminds me of a small haggis .
It's made from Birch burl rescued from the log shed where it's been for a year and it was off a dead tree to begin with. Really was hard stuff .
It had one flaw that needed filling, luckily it was quite narrow so I ran some super glue into it and it seems to have done the trick. ( tip I picked up here I think ).
Still think the handles too big though. I used walnut oil then a rub with a block of bees wax to finish it.
