Birch Kuksa.

Eventually finished a weird looking kuksa. Kind of reminds me of a small haggis :) .
It's made from Birch burl rescued from the log shed where it's been for a year and it was off a dead tree to begin with. Really was hard stuff :eek: .

It had one flaw that needed filling, luckily it was quite narrow so I ran some super glue into it and it seems to have done the trick. ( tip I picked up here I think ).

Still think the handles too big though. I used walnut oil then a rub with a block of bees wax to finish it.

Thanks for the great feed back :D , It really is encouraging.

Lovely, and I bet it was hard work too, dry burr is tough stuff i bet you have callouses on your callouses.
A bit awkward to because of the deep bowl and only having a short knife.

I love that it looks like a wee haggis mate!But then again I am a bit of haggis head ,please send to me I will you trade a sporran or whisky.
