I recently found a decent bit of Birchbark (and a good Polypore!) on a rotting birchtree and although the bark is a bit thin I decided to have a go at pot making!
The "match pot" is made with the bark terned inside out and sewn (not as neatly as I would like..) with willowbark twineand the join also glued with a spruceresin and beeswax glue, has a hazel base gluedinto place and pegged with wood slivers glued into place...and a hazel top with a willow bark twine double loop puller.
The bigger pot has a glue reinforced "arrowhead tongue and slot" construction (like RMs tinderbox in bushcraft survival)with a Tulipwood base glued into position and a reinforcing collar just glued into place.
The lid is Tulipwood with a leather thong loop.
This one is right side out as the inner surface was not as pretty as the outer bark...

Thanks for looking!

Tips
Get the thickest bark you can find.
Use a round awl to make the holes - a blade tends to split the bark.
Make up more glue than you think you will need (75% resin 25% wax is my favourite...)
Plan ahead!
:)
