have you thought about a monocular? i have a friend who uses one. it depends what you want it for though, its not good for extended looking as it where but its good for jsut occasional looking if your out and about and just want to ID birds, stalk deer etc etc

Stay clear of vintage Zeiss Jena roof prisms as they suffered reflector alignment issues with very little encouragement.
