I don't know very much about this at all, It turned up in a box, in the back of one of the barns I'm clearing out of my parents old 'stuff'.
What I do know, well, It's really big! I've included a pic of it next to a GB wildlife hatchet. It is probably fairy old too, as things get buried for decades here on the farm.It has well worked brass fittings, a leather stacked handle, and filework on the spine of the blade. That's about all I can tell you, apart from the measurements: 16" in total, 10.5" blade, 5mm thick.
I'll let the pictures (sorry, rubbish iphone pics) do the talking:
I was going to keep this, but couldn't think of a use for it, so thought I'd offer it up here. Maybe a nice project?
