I don't know very much about this at all, It turned up in a box, in the back of one of the barns I'm clearing out of my parents old 'stuff'.
What I do know, well, It's really big! I've included a pic of it next to a GB wildlife hatchet. It is probably fairy old too, as things get buried for decades here on the farm.It has well worked brass fittings, a leather stacked handle, and filework on the spine of the blade. That's about all I can tell you, apart from the measurements: 16" in total, 10.5" blade, 5mm thick.
I'll let the pictures (sorry, rubbish iphone pics) do the talking:
I was going to keep this, but couldn't think of a use for it, so thought I'd offer it up here. Maybe a nice project?
As I know nothing about it, and therefore have no idea of it's value, perhaps some more knowledgeable chap could steer me in the right direction. In the meantime, it's up for trade, anything interesting, sharps and bright, and other gadgets welcome..
