Belt Sanders for Poor People

Im looking for a cheap belt sander for my knife work, leather work and general carpentry. Iv found a few cheap combo belt sanders below.

Has anyone had any experience with eithers of these sanders?

Are there any other cheap belt sanders or sanding discs around?

Aldi were selling a grinder /linisher for about £20 recently.You can get similar from machine mart.

I've got the axminster one. It's a solid piece of kit that I use almost daily. The platten is a great help in getting things truely flat after planing/filing - like scales or blade bevels and the end of the platten over the roller is handy for shaping. I don't use the disc that often.

I burned out the drive belt after the first 6 months, but they're only 4 quid and easily replaced. The general construction is nice and simple, so easy to maintain.

Whats the difference between the ones with the stone wheels and the ones that require sand paper stuck on the wheel?
