The fire pit was already in-situ when I got there, with three full length trunks crossed over it with burnt ends like the one you see midway in the picture, I tidied up when I left, extinguished the fire but left the pit in place.

This intrepid holly sapling has grown from a seed that ended up in a hole in the trunk of a fallen tree.
