After reading some old threads on here, it would seem its more like kero than petrol. Is that true even if its petroleum based, saying that, kero is probably petrol based. I dont know, can any one educate me.
 
No mate, it's usually Kero (all my bottles say it is) . I filled my lighter with it. Wouldn't light for toffee. :lmao:Had to mop it out and refill with naptha.


Great price though, it's fantastic in a white gas stove for value. I'll pick some up, nice find. :)
 
Ahh ok, thanks Teepee. Was going to put it in my zippo handwarmer. Probably not a good idea lol

Some seems better than others. Some Aldidl stuff I've got is really easy to light in my Multifuel stove, others take more coaxing.

Yeah, I'd stick to naptha too :)
 
Technically, its a petrol yup, a light petrol oil, light fuel oil, but in common speak no its not a petrol its a diesil with no additives. Lamp oil is the best by far, less sooty with no colourant like parraffin. A bit like carbon steel is commonly thought of as a hard brittle metal, where as it has an entire range apparrently
