I have a rather lovely little axe head that I had made for me by a blacksmith. Unfortunately I am having a lot of trouble finding a suitable handle. Having checked every hardware shop within walking distance, all the handles they have are either WAAAY to big, or WAAY to small.
The eye on this axe head is 45mm by 20mm. I'm thinking a handle in the region of 12" should be about right. Does anyone know where I can find a suitable ash handle to put on this head? I would even be happy with just a lump of ash and carve my own handle, but the local timber suppliers will only sell me long and wide planks.
Any ideas?
