I,m off travelling soon and will be visiting Australia. I'm hoping to make the most of my time there by experiencing what I beleive aus is all about. The outback and the aboriginal people. Has anyone got any experiences, advice or know of any courses where I can learn some austrailian bushcraft?

There are actually not many Australian bushcraft schools compared to the amount we have here. One that I know of is http://www.bobcoopersurvival.com/ Bob seems to guest instruct on a lot of courses there too. You could also check out http://www.aussurvivalist.com/survivalcourses.htm which has a list of some courses available. It might be worth your while getting in touch with a school (as in kids educational facility!) as they often have Aboriginal elders coming in to teach the children about Aboriginal culture, you may be able to get a contact name which would give you a starting point to spending some time learning from them. It's definitely worth a try.
You will have a wonderful time whatever you do, Australia is an amazing place. I am hoping to get back there soon myself :D

If you have it, take your TIME and visit local Aborignal communities.

I did and since they saw I was genuinely (spelling) interested in them and there culture they showed me more on bushtucker walks etc.

Some commercially guided tours, schools are defintely a good starting point. From a survival/s&r point of view I can, recommend Staying Alive Survival Services. Two great blokes (at http://www.stayingalive.com.au/training.html )
