yep indeed its an aspen (Populus tremula), i always make sure i have some of these in any planting schemes that i do ( if i can get away with it ;) )

Brilliant trees for bushcraft and has many medical uses too. a pioneering species like birches, which only lives for between 50 to 100 years. Wildlife love it too from red deer to woodpeckers and of coarse the first thing on the menu for any beaver in the Caledonian area.
