Arming sword scabbard (pic heavy)

Ok, as I’ve had photobucket issues I have at least saved these so I thought I’d share them here.

I was commissioned to make another scabbard for an arming sword.
Circa 1300 with an integrated sword belt (not seen much after 1350)

Cuir bouilli central core, calfskin over wrap and a wet formed hide outer with a four colour dye mix.

An interesting build if a little hard wearing on the hands.

My client also wanted a pair of tankards with heraldic coat of arms, so….

Cheers Drew, not too frustrating just a little er, different as I couldn't use a wooden inner & there is not much written on cuir liners

The sword was made by Mark Vickers, St Georges Armoury.
