Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
My neighbour has just cut down an apple tree and I grabbed a load of useful pieces. I was wondering if it's safe to use for spoons etc or is there any toxins or anything in it?
Excellent safe wood for utensils but rather hard if you are not experienced. Keep it from drying out until you crave it, get rid of as much wood as quickly as you can whilst it is fresh. You don't want to be carving it (other than fine finishing cute) when it is dry.
