Stumbled across this forum last night. Looks like it's really active. So I thought why not.
I have always had a bit of a connection with the great outdoors. Be it shooting and fishing with my dad when I was younger, working on a farm in my teens and then hillwalking in my adult years.
Unfortunately I have became more and more disillusioned with hillwalking due to the commercialism of it and the general attitude of ticking of hills. Where the hell is the fun going up a Munro in mist and rain just to turn around and go straight back down just to say you have done it.
My bushcraft journey started off with me stumbling over MCQBushcraft on youtube.
Since then I have put together a bit of a basic kit and have been out a couple of times.
Also it has grabbed my 8 year old daughter's attention as well. She has already been out with me once. Hence the name bushcraftingdad .
Anyway I know that I have a lot to learn and look forward to doing so.
Hopefully I will get to know a few of you via this forum.
Cheers
