Hi all, well im off to a wedding at the end of the month, just so happens to be in America, can anyone suggest a few must have things to grab other there that wont make me look like a terrorist or weigh me down to much,or more importantly break the already broken bank of me

Broadheads for arrows. They are not available here as bow huntign is illeagal (that is if you are into that kind of thing, not that I am encouraging illicit activity, just saying they might come in useful for that bow hunting trip you might be going on) Bring back a money clip - so hard to find here, but so useful. Get yourself some good outdoorsy stuuf (it cheap over there)

ANd KOOLAID!!

You dont have mountain dew in the UK? So many people in this region of the US are addicted to it to the point that they get bad head aces when they cant get it. I drink it but I am not addicted. Wait, aint that what all drug addicts and alcoholics say  I better quit drinking it.:D

Anyways, there are two big outdoor store chains here in the US Cabellas and Gander Mountain. Cabellas is a huge store and there is at least one or two in every state. I bought a sweedish fire steel and a flint and steel set at Cabellas. Two things that are not carried in many stores around here. I almost missed the flint set because it was in the flintlock section but it works great.

Look on google maps for a Cabellas near your destination and check it out if its close. Gander Mountain is a good store too just smaller.

We have just got mountain dew back in the uk last week i think
But it's got to be branded as MTN DU NRG as an energy drink because it has caffeine..and isnt coke.
It comes in a very unpleasant bright yellow bottle too.
Tastes different as well, because brominated vegetable oil is illegal in the EU.............

So i order it online

If memory serves me well, we did have it for a while back in the early 90's. But not seen it for quite some time. But tell me, do you get Iron Bru over there?

Sadly no and I love Iron Bru, I would much rather have it over Mountain Dew. Only time I've had it my friends dad brought a case back from a trip to Scotland.

I don't know where you're staying by the way, but if you're anywhere in the "south"...which can be as far north as Oregon...You'll see a fair amount of roadside "cowboy" shops in my experience. If you can stop in on the ones that look the most authentic, you can get bargains. Especially on jeans that you can actually use for the original intent. And axes and saws and bindles and leather boots and bags....

In fact if you see me in a shop, dont be shocked, im getting "dude ranch" fever

Kool Aid - I tried it for the first last year and it certainly makes iodine treated water taste a lot better, nice for a sugar boost too.

Its a big country, where are you going? And how long you gonna be here?

Walmart is a good place to start as almost every town has one.
Just last night I was looking at the knives and couldnt believe that they were selling Buck 110s for $29.
Try checking out some pawn shops as well.
Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Bass Pro Shops, Big 5 Sporting goods, & Sportsmans Warehouse you can be like a kid in a candy shop.
If you're into clothes, Gap and Old Navy are popular and are found all over usually at the malls.

Be careful, my wife came here from the UK 34 years ago and didnt go back .
