I had set my sights on a pair of Brasher Lithium boots,

http://www.brasher.co.uk/catalogue/products/lithium-gtx-r-lithiummn

... having researched them on-line and found only good reviews, but I got my hands on a pair for the first time today in F&T and was very disappointed. The uppers seemed thin and flimsy and the mid-soles looked like they'd been squeezed out of an ice cream machine. They just don't seem robust. I've also now found some reviews saying they're hot and uncomfortable, and one from a guy saying Brasher customer services weren't interested in his complaints, and I haven't found them too helpful myself.

These Brasher Altai looked better ... http://www.brasher.co.uk/catalogue/products/altai-gtx-r-b010002a5

... but I wonder if I should forget Brasher and start again.

The features I'm looking for are:-

robust
light-weight
fabric uppers
waterproof breathable
reasonably stiff sole, with cushioning (gel?) and
MRP of under £150

Anyone got any recommendations? Thanks.

Mart.
