Remember the old leather vets and doctors bags of yesteryear and James Herriot in the tv program All creatures great and small? well recently i found one at the dump and paid 50p for the privilege of giving it a new home,well its style wasnt my 'bag' so it sat in the workshop for a bout a year when it occurred to me it could be come so much more with its aged patina and general looks,so first thing was to cut the side pouches off which with little effort and a bit of sewing was done:

and then i figured it would be nice to have a belt mountable mask for my hawk,my boys and I being big fans of the movie called the patriot with mel Gibson i decided to pyrografy the haft,heres the result:

so all in all a good use of an old bag (no wife jokes!),

I did something similar with an old leather Satchel/document case a few years ago to make a "man bag" and a second bits case - not a patch on the quality you have achieved though.
