Yes you can,but it will only burn in the centre .I twont vapourise and come out through the jets.The residue will also gum up the inside bottom of the burner.

I once used alcohol gel in my Trangia, which looks a lot like the Tatonka. It clogged everything, there was hardly any jet flame possible, so efficiency of the burner was ruined.
Thanks to the closed construction of the burner, cleaning it properly wasn't possible so ended up buying a new one...
The old one is still usable, but I'm not taking it out on trekkings anymore, wouldn't mind using it when there's loads of ethanol available though.

Given that you can make the gel with vinegar and egg shells - maybe vinegar could be used to clean up the gel? :dunno:
