Does anyone have a rec for a tipi or pyramid style tent that's on the cheap side? Weight no issue, it's to put up (and leave up) in the garden for a bit of fun, although decent waterproofing would be good because: Wales.

I did see one in a store last year and. didn't note down the brand, like a dope. affordable for me is ~£150

Or maybe a patrol tent? Something that works as a kind of static outdoor room that feels adventurous

Can’t find the thread - sorry to OP

We’ve just had someone point out that you can’t put an ordinary camp chair in a small tipi with 45 degree walls. Look for one with 60 degree walls (height = diameter+)

Luxe would be a great option as they're good quality and just about in budget. But sadly it looks like you'll struggle to get them in the UK now. Backpackinglight.co.uk used to be the dealer, but Bob and Rose retired, Valley and Peak took over the store, kept things going for a few months, but have recently ditched it and don't even seem to stock Luxe products on the V&P website. To quote Mr John...."it's a sad sad situation"!

So, in the absence of Luxe, the DD pyramid tents might also be worth a punt. They do a few different sizes, many of which should be in budget.

What are your sewing skills like? A basic pyramid isn't to hard to do from a couple of plash palatkas or such as donor materiel. You can buy mesh inners with a plastic floor pretty cheap.

I thought about making a new canvas for mine once - it’s 22 metres of 1.4M fabric’

I bought my Luxe mini peak 2 in brown from Luxe direct in Europe, delivered it was £117 a year ago, but I've just seen that V+P have a brown version on sale for £86 currently.

Great quality pyramid tent for 1 person.
