Hello All ,
I am just trying to pick peoples brains as to whether any members here might have some ideas how to age Stag Horn / Antler knife handles . I have quite a nice stag horn handled knife , but I do not like the very whitish areas and am sure an aged look would go better with the dark bark areas ?
Thanks

Soak it in Danish oil for a week or so. The antler will soak it up and turn an aged yellow colour. And the Danish oil stabilises it at the same time too.

if you have a look at deer stalking forums etc you will see a few ideas for aging antler and bone.
IIRC i used pot per to age some a few years ago. strange but painting on the purple turns the antler brown!
