Advice please- which wood for....

Earth- for awhile longer...
Can someone please advise me as to which woods are safe (i.e do not contsain any nasty chemicals) to use as culinary items (spoons/bowls etc)
So far I have been told:
1- Prunus Kanzan (that nice pink tree flowering now)
any others?

experience...mmm tricky! how does one evaluate that? I'm just a newbie! (be gentle!) these are all for use in the kitchen hence the original Q. Will stay clear of Yew then- any others? Thanks Robin

thank you for kind comments- my fav wood is Prunus Kanzan due to the gorgeous growth rings but was wondering what else to have ago at:)
(loads of flowering prunuses around but always in front of people's houses....:rolleyes:) Grrrrrrr :lmao:
