So myself, my wife, my daughter and my parents went to a unique spot for a weekend in the lake district.
We were not camping as my mother has recently had a hip replacement so we sought a comfort option.
We stayed on a farm just outside Ulverston with lovely views of the Conniston mountains in something called an octolodge ( an eight sided wooden cabin )
Here are some pictures from our trip.
Looking up towards the octolodges
View off the balcony looking straight out
View to the right off the balcony
View to the left off the balcony
Looking into the lodge. There is a double bed at the rear and a single to either side, a pull out table, a small galley kitchen with fridge, microwave and kettle and a flat screen TV! Oh and my wife, my mother and my daughter.
There were also communal toilet blocks/showers, picnic area and washing area shown in the next few pictures.
Picnic area
Washing area and my dad washing up!
Toilet block
1 of 2 toilets! Very snazzy.
1 of 2 sinks
1 of 2 showers
View of the weir in Haverthwaite. Can you spot the Heron?
Close up of the Heron waiting for its dinner.
Sunset over Conniston mountains
Venison on the BBQ
I managed to catch a cricket and I called him Jiminy. He was then let go in a safer place.
All in all it was a lovely trip with lovely weather. We saw some amazing wildlife and all in all I got to spend time with my close family. I would recommend this to anyone as it is a brilliant place in a brilliant setting.
