In the woods if possible.
The wife and I bought a couple of these from DX some time last year. To answer the build quality question, they definitely aren't as good as the Fenix/Lenser/Petzl/Zebralight types but they do work OK. The wife's one gave a little contact trouble but it was easily fixed by bending a (flimsy) part on the battery holder. They're great for occasional use but I wouldn't rely on one of these alone for a situation where light is essential, such as camping in the middle of nowhere at new moon. The run time on the three triple-A cells is fairly short too, I reckon about half an hour tops with 750mAh cells, and there's no way to reduce the brightness -- it's just on and off -- although it does get a lot dimmer as the batteries run down. That's one of the things that can make a big difference to the cost and usability of a torch, some of the more expensive models give you full brightness from a nearly flat battery. Then they suddenly go out, usually without much warning.

Only found out about the dim/strobe modes this evening. I will say that the lanyard is too short to have it round your wrist & still press the button - mine snapped this evening, fortunately whilst I was still holding the torch.

It's nice & bright but difficult to use one handed (the focus ring & button are at opposite ends so you have to change hand position)

Still glad I bought it & for the price it's a bargain

Put new lender supplied batteries in my aldi....it was better quality light....less light pollution in spot mode. Easier and more comfortable to use than the lenser. Added bonus of SOS mode...added bonus of it standing on. Its end
Easier to grip in my mouth , better color clarity on the fields and wood......yeah it has shorter battery life....but hey ho....what is it to carry a trio of extra batteries. Ill give the lenser it's due...the case is for life !

If you wrap self-amalgamating rubber tape around the base of a torch it makes it much more comfortable to grip in your teeth
