I had an unexpected few free days in Norway last week. I was due to head offshore but the trip was delayed due to issues with the helicopters.

Rather than spend the time sitting on my bum in a hotel I went and bought a cheap fishing set and a couple of lures and tried my luck in the local fjords. I didn't catch a thing but it was just very nice to be out and about and slinging a line in for a bit.
As you can see it was a bit snowy but surprisingly not too cold. The spots were a decent walk from the hotel but not unreasonably so.

I had half considered buying a Mora and some matches to get a bit of a fire going should I catch anything but decided this was optimistic at best and given all I caught was weeds, this decision proved best.

But as I say it was lovely to be out and having a go for a change.

The photos are from two locations in and around Kristiansund in Norway. The second spot I fished would be well worth visiting in warmer weather and I plan on doing so if I get the chance again.

All the best

I read pink and blue is a good lure colour in cold water! Maybe an old wives tale but worth a bash!
I'll have to remember that for next time. I think the chances of this happening again any time soon are slim but you never know.

Thanks for the tip.

All the best
Andy
