A modified sheath and firesteel holder

rancid badger

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
I was asked recently to make a sheath that would be able to be fitted to a rucksack waist belt without dangling but also be easily detachable.

after some to'ing and fro'ing we came up with this:

At first glance, just one of my normal, standard sheaths, with a drop loop.

but with an extra long detachable belt loop, secured with "shxt to a blanket" press studs.

Also in the above picture, is a fire steel holder, designed to be worn on a lanyard round the neck or with the drop loop, from a belt.

It's ages since I made anything for myself, so I knocked this one up for me, after making a matching one to go with the pictured sheath.

The sleeve is pretty tight but the addition of a simple loop, the right length to clip over the end of the steel, just adds a little extra security.

Hope you like anyway

all the best

i am going to be very pleased [Steve has been very patient] :)

i like the fact people make things and trade on here i think its in the spirit of bush-craft.

the enzo trapper i put together will mostly go in that sheath and i will buy my first fire-steel blank and make a handle for it as that seems fitting.

cant wait
