A Little Visitor

What a cute little fella, have you decided on the best way to prepare him?

It was taken from about 8 inches with a macro lense, I moved a little as I took it hence he is situated towards the top of the photo.
I have a few more of him because I first spotted him as I was fitting the new elctrics in my garage, he was sat watching me. It put me in mind of the Lee Evans film Mouse Hunt.
The other thing about him that really got me was that the whole area has at least 3 cats to 4 houses. My house has a cat and he sat out in the middle of nowhere with a cat on the prowl no more than a few feet from him and seemed to have no cares in the world.
If someone asked "are you a man or a mouse" I would almost be proud to be that mouse

They would have to be small shoes as the picture is actually bigger than he is by a long way, he could easily of sat in your palm without you knowing he was there
Cool! Ive got a soft spot for little furry fella's too, except rats and grey squirells!
I saved this shrew from a cat in Scotland recently, and the mouse had a litter in my compost heap a while ago, its just tucking into a bit of toast and jam in the pic

Great photo Leon, was it honey the Romans used to eat them with? Just kidding. Reminds me I camped somewhere in Somerset and got on of those in my sleeping bag, it was terrified poor thing.

Think it might be a fluke. There are similar ones which send snails crazy so that they move to places where birds can eat them.....Not Bob said:

I haven't seen a shrew for years, although I know they are about, my mums dog got bit on the nose by one about 2 weeks ago, unfortunately that meant the shrew became lunch for the dog

I'd never seen one before but after a quick google apparently theyre supposed to be quite common, there are a few varieties, they taste unpleasant and can give off a bad smell when attacked. Didnt notice any nasty odours from that little chap but he may have been fatally wounded already.
