A Hut in the Dales

We stayed at a hut in the Yorkshire Dales last weekend, it was wet and windy most of the time but toasty warm in the hut.




The dog had the best spot all weekend

Between storms we got some views of the Three Peaks


We also had a walk up Ingleborough but didn't get any pics due to the weather

The hut belongs to an outdoor pursuits club and is used as a base for walking, climbing, caving etc. It sleeps 6 on the bunk beds plus there are 2 or 3 canvas camp beds, in the past we have also put up the odd tent inside the fenced area.

To use the hut you need to be a member of the club or have a member with you, if anyone is interested in a weekend meet I am happy to set it up when I have a free weekend. The hut is off grid with bottle gas lighting and cooking, stream water on tap, and a compost toilet. PM me if your interested.

Absolutely beautiful. The stove is a real touch.

I was somewhat disappointed by the electric light. Not quite as Spartan as a Scottish bothie, but still pretty close.
