i was looking at some old pics i have of my visit to HMS Victory and a saw the tableware pic i took,on them were cow horn spoons which i had planned to make for ages so i set about making one today and here is the result:

yep will do a tute as soon as i buy some more horn.

no it didnt go soft whilst eating a fair bowl (or two) of piping hot stew,wouldnt risk using it for cooking though.

i do like the feel of it in the mouth compared to wood .

Wow, I love the look of it and can't wait for a tutorial too. I presume you cut the horn into a tube then cut it and heat so you can flatten it to a sheet.......

just cut up the side and opened it as i didnt have enough to waste any! lol

I have a few and aim to make some one day.

this is how they made spoons, -from plastic, before they had newfangled materials such as wood.
