a horny spoon.

i was looking at some old pics i have of my visit to HMS Victory and a saw the tableware pic i took,on them were cow horn spoons which i had planned to make for ages so i set about making one today and here is the result:

Does it go bendy with hot food?

yep will do a tute as soon as i buy some more horn.

no it didnt go soft whilst eating a fair bowl (or two) of piping hot stew,wouldnt risk using it for cooking though.

i do like the feel of it in the mouth compared to wood .

heated the horn and clamped between 2 spoons in a vice to form the bowl.

I love it, love horn cutlery. When you get some more horn would you make me an egg spoon? We used to have those when I was growing up but they got lost over the years. I'd love to have another one or two

just cut up the side and opened it as i didnt have enough to waste any! lol
