My wife is in New York with her friends (part of a month long celebration of her 40th) my son is at a careers fair in london, so that leaves me and my daughter to spend easy quality time together...so...
Off to the woods to see what we can find...

Home for lunch after a gentle wander through the woods...gathered a good amount of chestnuts and enough boletus for lunch...
Fried the boletus in butter, with chilli....
A splash of red wine and spoon of cream just before serving on hot toast
As as for the chestnuts, wrapped in foil and roasted on the woodburner for twenty minutes...like scooping nutty mashed potatoes from a shell...and a glass of Rioja...
I know its not that cold, but I couldn't resist...roll on winter...
