Been inspired by allthepies recent stovage posts and decided to have a go at a few this week

first up is a bog standard pepsi can stove made from the bottom of two 330ml cans. its stuffed with ceramic wool and uses a rivnut and thumb screw to pressurise it. will hold about 2oz of meths and burns for ages

the pot stand was made from three stainless 2mm diameter bike spokes bent to shape and joined with some silicone tubing. it all comes apart to pack flat and seems to take plents of weight

next is a remote feed multi cell stove made from shotgun shell ferrules. i wanted it in a triangular shape to match the shape of the pot stand. i used three m2 fuel nipples to join the three outer cells to the centre cell and added one more on the outside for the fuel feed. it needed some sealing on the base round the firing pin to keep it from leaking as well as at each nipple joint. finally i used a spare ferrule to cut some rounds of ceramic wool to use as wicks. its very effective

finally is one ive been wanting to try for a while. Its a hoop stove made from a 150ml mini mixer cans. The design is by tetkoba on youtube and he provides a full 'how to' on the build. its a complex and fiddly build but worth it for the end result. i didnt get may pics during construction and ive not burned it yet as im waiting for the jb weld to cure. here is what i have so far

Nice one Paul. Looking forward to seeing the last one burn. The shottie shell one is interesting!

They all look really good.
How long are you leaving the JBWeld to cure? I used chemical metal for a stand before, only to find out later it burned well!

Good stuff Paul, that Ceramic wool looks like good stuff with great wicking properties? I will have to re-visit my Shotgun shell stove design and improve on it's 15 minute boil time!! Your Shell Brass looks very tall? Mine were very stumpy and held about 5ml of fuel! Can that Ceramic wool be cut into a donut shape an hold it's form?

Steve.

Ive had the wool sitting in a cupboard for 6 months or more so not much experience other than this week. its excellent stuff. the top bog standard stove is filled with it and burned for 30 mins on a fill. it will hold its shape and you can cut it by pressing out. i used the shotgun ferrules to do the cutting. it comes supplied quite thick but is a layered affair so you can peel it down to your needs. its designed to work with alcohol fuels so all good on temperature resistance etc. You want Eley VIP shells. Big deep ferrules. just holler if you want some as ive a few bags in the garage

aye it did and i burned it. Have to say it was great but my fave for in the field would be the first stove. a bog standard pressurised pespi stove will burn for a half hour and gives an incredibly hot flame

here is the hoop. with hindsight id have made the pot stand a little lower as its too high and affects boil times.
