My wife and I have a tradition of going for a quiet walk together on Christmas day, so this year we decided to head over to Wentwood forest, taking the dog with us. We managed to time it to avoid the rain.

This tree caught my eye because of the spirals in it. I decided that it might soon have an accident involving me and a saw...

Tracy went for the artistic shots instead.

All in all, a very nice hour or so.

Nice crimbo jumper!

Not actually a Christmas jumper. Many years ago in my teens I copied a picture of a northern lynx (bobcat) onto a sheet of graph paper as a knitting pattern, and gave it to my mum and asked her to knit it for me. I was into lynxes at the time. She refused, saying it was too complicated.

After I met my wife, I found the old sheet of graph paper and showed it to her, with the above story. She said "Oh I could do that easily" and did. I was delighted.

I found the jumper (now a bit stretched) in a box in the wardrobe the other day and thought it would be nice to wear it today. It kept me warm under my winter coat.
