just got myself a mora 164 spoon knife sharpened it ok but i've seen a youtube vid of a guy grinding the sharp point off.Why was this done and how much do you grind off?does anybody have any pics of a modified 164 please
It was done because the point does not help you with any cutting ever apart from sticking in flesh which it is quite effective at. It's a good idea and you only need to tack a mm or two off just enough to round the end and stop it spiking you. Can be done with coarse emery doesn't need a grinder.
