1099 online, and so far (touch wood) not one spammer.

We've been making like swans recently; calm on the surface and paddling furiously beneath.
The Automated spam catcher thing gets a heck of a lot of them, but we've still killed off a couple of dozen today.
The Boss redd out 500 earlier in the week.

There's a fellow in Samoa and another in Vietnam that if I can get near them with a Mora would be singing soprano for the rest of their miserable existances well....virtually speaking, iimmc
If I can figure out how to fry their keyboards by remote though.....:evilgrin:


This is really just a Thank You! to all who report something dodgy, and a bigger thank you to all who do not click on suspect links. If no one clicks, the blighters don't get paid, and hopefully, they'll slope off to better endeavours.

Toddy, If you want a giggle give me the email addresses used and the IP addresses, I once tracked a Spammer down to his house, got his facebook details I signed him up for every catalogue company I could find and before you ask I confirmed he was a spammer before I did it.

Pretty sure the Boss won't let me though, but the idea is a happy one We could be really really creative about the catalogues too

I've resorted to sending the blighters subliminal messages in the explanation for their ban; probably don't even read them, but I feel happier wishing their keyboards do them a mischief and so on.

Awwww I wanted a spammer hunting session

But yea you can be creative with it, I signed him up to some decidedly odd one's including some that I will describe as "Not your parents leather work" mostly dangly bit's with bell's an studs on, when he got that next to a OAP supply catalogue and one for adult sized baby clothing I can only just hope his head exploded. The real satisfaction was in killing of his operation even for a short time.

I got his mobile number at one point, and sent him a message too something to the effect of don't annoy some one who works in Information Security

I met a fellow who said that he made that kind of bespoke leatherwork; he said there was really good money in it.

He was admiring my knife sheath and baldric at the time....kind of gave me pause for thought that one

HAHA, then again I am not surprised just having the to use a New Yorkism, "Moxi" to get anything custom in that category of leather work you can be expected to pay big time for it. Having said that my Best friend is a Photographer and was asked to do a trade event for a Trade show specialising in burlesque stuff he got a couple of tickets and took me along for giggles. Some of the stuff I saw made my eye's not only stand on end but also made me blind for several day's and I thought I was a man of the world. Some of the pictures he had to take I can only say are best viewed in 5 dimensions while on LSD to make any form of sense.

I have a full transcript I can pass you of what I did to that spammer if you want it.

Tony, did you country ban via that plug in for it or via the old Apache htacess file? Because when a large number of spammers tried the forums I admin'd at it gave the server load issues.
