I’ve never been a fan of scissor jacks. I kept the small bottle jack from my old Mitsubishi and replaced the Land Rover scissor jack with it.
Come to think of it that old jack probably wants to be checked and serviced… How often should one replace the fluid in one?
I’d just like to add… We still have comprehensive breakdown cover. It’s not always safe, or practical do everything myself and I understand my limits too.
@Glow_worm Hi-Vis is a great idea actually. I’ll definitely add one of those to my kit!
Being someone who likes to be self reliant. I always like to carry some simple tools with me if I can. They’ve come in handy numerous times both for myself and others, most recently when we were in Scotland and the fan belt delaminated on the Land Rover.
I took the opportunity yesterday...
That is where Duo Lingo is useful. It’s been designed for us to learn in a much more natural way, you’ll find random words will stick in your head for a while rather than things you might think useful. I urge anyone here to give it a try, just note that sometimes the pronunciation for things is...
I’m one of those people who seem to pick up the basics of language easily. My wife finds it both extremely annoying and incredibly helpful.

The bin is kind of important as it has a gap at the bottom for the juice to collect and a tap to drain it off periodically as well.
We have two 15L bokashi bins, and just alternate between the two. Once the second one is full the first is fermented well enough to dig into the beds ready to go.
The juice is fantastic for unblocking drains too!
I’ve used the Ryobi one for a few years now. With a couple of 5.0ah batteries it works really well for longer trips, a bit cumbersome though so definitely not backpacking trip kit.
Although a cheap option if you’ve already got tools I think either a decent power bank if you’re going...
The latest one is a haunting in Venice, only recently come out. I like the all star casting of them, and think they’re good movies. Your right though it’s no David Suchet.
