Crap idea now available in DPM!

I have M.E. and digging a hole in the woods is really is out of the question. I would totally consider getting one of these. I have had portapotties in the past and emptying them is the grossest thing ever. This is far more preferable.

Tree camping, does anyone do it?

As a lone female camper, my sole reason for wanting to sleep high off the ground is that, unless they know that I'm there, no-one will ever find me. I like climbing trees and feel, from a security point of view, that I would sleep much better with out worrying about anyone stumbling over me. I...

    Bushcraft/survival fitness and conditioning

This is very interesting to me, as I used to be incredibly fit and active. Every day of my life involved vast amounts of exercise. And then I got ill, (with M.E.) and haven't exercised in about a year and a half. I have put on loads of weight and can't walk more than a quarter of a mile on a...

Tree camping, does anyone do it?

I have climbed many tree in the past and reached heights that, if I'd fallen, would probably have killed me. But I also get in a car each day and lots of people die doing that as well, so I guess I just don't worry enough. Perhaps I will start off camping out in fairly low trees, assess the...

    Preparedness, do any practise it?

I have just read this thread from start to finish and found it incredibly interesting. I wouldn't say I was particularly prepared, but my lifestyle lends itself very well to survival, in that I try and live in a very eco-conscious and self sufficient way. We have solar lights, water containers...

bushcraft courses that cater for disabilities

Hi, I was wandering if anyone knows of any good bushcraft courses that are suitable for people with mobility problems? I have M.E. and can only walk very short distances and need lots of rests, but I would love to go on a course. It needs to be for people who are not physically fit though! I am...

Tree camping, does anyone do it?

i've thought about this on and off for years and never heard any one else talk about it. i am desperate to give it a go as i love climbing trees. i would happily sleep in beeches when it is dry but i would probably be a little wary of them in the wind after a heavy rain. one of my main reasons...

    The Great Storm of `87

I remember sitting in school, (I was 8) and our classrooms looked out over the cemetary. The teacher stopped trying to teach us anything because we wouldn't come away from the windows. Every five minutes one of us woulod shout, "oooh look, another tree fell over!" That bit was exciting. Then my...

    self sufficiency

For charging my phone I have a dynamo which fits on my bike. This has a cigarette socket which mounts on my bike and can charge any 12v appliance I believe, although it is only a 6v dynamo, so it obviously takes longer than a mains supply. I have found it's far more effective on longer journies...

    Taking Dogs

Would make it a bit difficult to travel light though! I'll give it a try making him a bed out of leaves and a sheep skin, and if he really doesn't go for the idea, I have a ligt two man tent we'd both fit in. Which would have the added bonus that I'd have a giant hot water bottle!
