    Here's a thought..... It doesn't matter whether you're a Christian / Muslim / Buddhist / Jew / Atheist / etc. What matters is that you're a good Christian / Muslim / Buddhist / Jew / Atheist / etc.

Discovered: Zebra billy cans for £6.20 & £4.95

I was in the shop this afternoon (I live in Weymouth). They've got loads of the 10cm left but they now reckon it'll be about 8 weeks before any more of the 12cm come in. They do other similar stuff by Zebra (eg steel food containers) so make sure you specify "Loop Handle Pot" if phoning or...

    bizarre user names amongst us............

Simple really - I'm a Zen Buddhist  I guess the connection with Bushcraft is that the Buddha used to encourage his trainees to seek out wild and isolated places in which to meditate. He himself spent most of his 80 year life living outside, eating only what he could forage for and...

    veggi food for longer trip

Hi Andy, I hope this is helpful and not patronising, but then, (I think it was Bambodoggy who said this first), I don't know what you know already. Maybe we could look at it from a different angle and ask the question what will your body really need during the trip? Assuming that (with...

    Folder advice

The sturdiest folding knife I've ever tried is the Benchmade Griptilian - it's absolutely bomb proof. I might yet buy a mini-Griptilian because they are so strong, but I wasn't too keen on the blade or the handle shape of the full size one, so I'm not sure. I've now got a 1st generation...

    Waste

Nice one Kim, :You_Rock_ I thoroughly agree with the practice of making wiser decisions over where we get our food from, and doing our best to ensure that it comes to us from more sustainable & humane methods of food aquisition / production, and not the battery cage or the over worked and...

    Waste

Good point Gary, (Note to self - must try to answer the question actually asked and not simply rant :naughty: ) Firstly, I really don't know the answer, but could possibly guess at post 1800 education systems promoting self interest, or the fact that we (think we) can now afford to be...
