for those based near Glasgow I thought I would mention this place does indoor archery. http://www.academyofhistoricalarts.co.uk/
There is no joining fee just a drop in cost for an hour. I have had a couple of fencing lessons there but not...
The weight seems to depend on what you want. The ones that just block the wind and rain are not that heavy and roll up into a big shopping bag. I haven't seen a full winter one.
I might ask if I can borrow a mid weight one and try it in the garden.
No he didn't say if he had modded it just mentioned that I should try one. Lidl were doing one for under a tenner so I am told but online they look like they can be had for about £30.
I was speaking to a guy at the weekend and the conversation got onto winter camping. To cut a long story short he was saying he used a horses winter rug as I would think of an underblanket.

I made one out of old carpet tiles from an office refurb that appears to be holding up well enough, held together with two ratchet straps and held between two pieces of wood. The arrows slide between the tiles and don't churn it up too much.
Someone also suggested a large plastic bag tightly...
loved the film, content was a bit shallow but the visuals were spectacular. I was thinking Dances with Wolves meets Fern Gully but it didn't stop me enjoying the film.
