    I found an axe today...

Quite a small axe, could it of been part of a vehicles 'Pioneer Tool' kit such as found on a WWII jeep? I suspect being possibly military there is more research material available for it 'out there' for the finding.

    For that Viking look...

I don't think these products are serious other than a niche market piece for the collector of the avant-garde. In recent times there has been an increase of odd ball knitwear items being featured in cybertrendy collaborative weblink sites (boingboiing) which have reared their head from the...

    Living out for a year?

whoooa that need some lovings. I recall posts on forums where people had been hunting for the whereabouts of that truck, unregistered for 11 years. I guess they found it in the end.

    Personal Survival Kit contents

I see Millets (and hiking stores) now have a whole range of different gear inside wide mouth Nalgene bottles like a first-aid bottle, travel bottle, fitness , survival , ski, kids and walking bottle. Ok, they are a gift gimmick but I don't think it's an all together terrible idea for a PSK...

Never ending search for My perfect sleep system

I found a minor amount of condensation gathers on the rubberised base, more testing needed on my part as it might have been my damp camelbak. My dog was in there with me in the bag hold area, great head warmer :lmao: I'm 6foot4 and he is a 21" tall lurcher and we had enough room, so you will...

Never ending search for My perfect sleep system

Strikeforce supplies have the same kit. I tried the sleep bag for size and as I am a big chap it was way too tight for me whereas the British green maggot I settled for has ample room. That said, if you fit inside then you'll find this modular US kit of being of high quality and the sleep bag...

    Pocket chainsaw!

Before you go off throwing dummy any more, you misread what I wrote and my intentions were not to pee on your group buy bonefire. It *was* the sabercut chainsaw that I purchased off ebay from bankrupt stock after the last group buy effort went belly up. It's an okay, cheap emergency use tool...

    Pocket chainsaw!

Can take me off the old interested list as I bought one from ebay. Since then I have seen the British army version which is leaps and bounds better than the pocket chainsaw and would recommend people source one of those instead. Here is an MOD one.

    Leatherman - Which one??

I bought an original leatherman supertool from Surival Aids catolgoue about 16/17 years ago which got stolen from my car at some point. I was bought a replacement super tool full size with leather pouch over a decade ago and hardly a day goes by without me reaching for it. I had used it all over...

    "Tramp Camping" by W.L.Pember

I have had a copy of this fantastic book since childhood, I have mentioned it before on this forum. I did attempt to scan it into electronic form but never got around to finishing that labour. Yes it is very much a British version of Nesmuk, you must have this in your left hip pocket and this...

    Air Rifles

There are rifle model specific points covered which may be of little use, but the general principles to the subject of airrifle shooting is well covered in this Canadian Cadet manual. Or at least I found it of some help.

My 1st Sheath from an old boot.

Or buy a cheap new pair from Aldi's, wearing for 30 minutes light work should be enough for the rubber soles to start falling apart in chunks :) The leather is good though :D

My 1st Sheath from an old boot.

We call em fly tipper's here in the UK and in my book they are considered the scum of the earth. I have cleared up their mess more than once to make a Right of Way passable again. Three versions I come across - the householder who are too ignorant and lazy to visit a recycling centre at...
