Found a piece of hoof fungus whilst on holiday, and have whittled it away to leave the top part that I think you make amadou from. I gather the next part is to boil it in lye for a few hours, but from reading some posts here I see that you don't just boil the fungus in water with some wood...

Just back from a week's holiday on Loch Tay with the wife and wee boy, and was disappointed by the amount of rubbish on the shores of the loch, apparently left by people fishing. I wouldn't call them anglers, as I am sure proper anglers wouldn't do that - I would guess this is left by the sort...

All right now - it just arrived, albeit with "CHARGE" stamped all over the box and a bill for £8.99 from Customs and Excise - £4.99 for VAT and £4 for a "Royal Mail International Clearance Fee". Bah :eek: At least I can play with it this weekend. :D Buster

I ordered a folding knife from New Graham on 31 Jan, and I was able to to track it via the US Postal Service until it left the US on 3 Feb. As of today - 14 Feb, there is still no sign of it. Does anyone have any idea if an item coming from the US normally take this long? Could it be held...
