are you calling a convex edge grind a scandi grind? if not please exsplain what kind of edge it is..i am a damascus bladesmith and been at it since 1987..
many of us in the states call a convex grind a moran grind as bill used it alot and it is a very tough/strong adge....i find it works...
thank you putting this site in my groups links.......imho id forget a lansky system...i use a spyderco knife system..i find it works fast and great for all knives includeing serrated ones ...

i live on top a mountain deep in the woods of tenn on 8 acres i own..i can forge a axe but i have not..a axe is handy but can be very deadly to your body..i much prefere a stihl chain saw...

A knife is one of mans first tools..and quite usefull id say..i make them ,but i use them as we all do each day..i find the further i get on the road the bigger i want my knife to be as i have many uses for it..from chopping wood to picking a splinter out of my fingers...
