Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (29th July - 10th August) available until April 6th, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
If it's still in warranty (aren't they 5 years?) just send it back. Especially if you saw some of the lining coming out of the valve.
Otherwise it's a game of hide and seek with the leak.
For some reason I seem to see a lot of leaky or failed exped mat reports online. Mainly the downmat though.
Yep, but no good when on the go, and of course isn't going help to with metals and chemicals. Still a decent idea for those living in undeveloped countries, but not useful for us.
I also have a Geigerig hydration pack.
Anyone got any experience with their filters?

The information is limited, so I doubt they as useful as the Lifesaver or Water2go bottle.
Well a few weeks on and I'm actually getting on well with the Water2go bottle. Must have gotten used to it.
I haven't used it on known bad water with deadly parasites and the like yet though.
On a separate note, I guess bathing and washing clothes in lakes and rivers (using environmental...
No not used in clothing applications, only equine.
From what I can see 0.5% is the minimum effective dose. No clothing treatments come in at less than that and are claimed to last between 2 weeks to a couple of months depending on whether they are sprayed or dunked.
The mosquito net one is...
A net is a similar weight to a light pair of trousers.
The item needs to be placed into a tub of this mixture. 50ml + 350ml of water.
A pair of trousers will absorb an a lot more fluid than a net will. A massive about more. So that 400ml mixture that the bottle produces will be gone in one...
Thanks but since there is only enough to do one net I doubt it's going to be of any use on multiple clothing items.
The minimum dilution I need is going to be around 1-0.5%
Something more like this (now discontinued)...
Been looking around online without much success for some Permethrin in 10% or similar solution.
Would like to treat my clothing before travel and buying and diluting a 10% solution is much much cheaper than buying a pre-made 0.5% spray that can only treat a single item.
I've got a 3l hydration pack that used in Morocco (with bottle water). Bizarrely riding off road there I never drank more than 2 litres whilst riding, and that was 35c plus and some 8 hour rides. That being said I drank a lot before leaving and a lot afterwards.
I bought the water-to-go bottle...
Some good youtube clips there and some good advice.
I'll be headed to South America. In particular the Bolivian Altiplano, Chilian Altiplano and then into Patagonia. Obviously I won't be filling up from laguna colorada, Laguna Verde, or Laguna Blanca :)
Thinking more about tap water from...
I was going to buy the Lifesaver last year but my trip was cancelled.
Here's the one in Boots - seems to be loads of reviews around the net (not that means anything)

The thing that interested me about the water to go system is that it does filter virus and has been highly tested (The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and BCS Laboratories)
I'm soon to be off in some very remote and isolated places. At times I'll be 3 days ride from civilisation, and can only carry so much bottled water. This led me to look at water filters.
It's on thing that I just don't know anything about.
I'll probably carry some water purification...
Yep.Gas and alcohol (backup stove).
I've sorted the bags now. I removed the zip stop from the Mountain Hardwear bag and placed the sliders on the bottom rung. I then ground down part of the bottom zip stop on the top rung.
Warranty void, but it means I can now zip the bags together.
Just...
Damn it seems I'm back in the market for down sleeping bags again.
I have a Mountain Equipment Classic 750, and a Mountain Hardwear Ratio 15. Both are decent bags. The problem is that the r/h zip Mountain Equipment bag doesn't Zip to the l/h zip Mountain Hardware bag. Never had a problem...
I bought one of the Aldi ones over year or so ago. I've never used it outside of the house as it's huge. I bought a vango before for a tenner. that ok, as was the girlfriends argos special.
I used to swear by self inflating mats but in colder weather I prefer insulated blow up ones.
