    Music and Bushcraft

Depends, if it's camping with a group of my friends, then its dreamtheater and other metal all night baby! however if I'm by myself I like to listen to various relaxing songs, I even enjoy a bit of orchestral music, specifically Siege, Fortress and Ancients composed by Matt Uelman, quite simply...

    Help with FireSteel

i've seen lots of posts about this before, why dont you try gently dropping shavings of metal without actually sparking them, then you get alot of little filings in one area, then all you have to do is let loose baby :D

British Bushcraft and the 21st Century

I am not being racist or anything here, but I am speaking in terms of popoulation. I heard some way that if asylum seekers and foreigners keep coming to live in the UK, then in 50 years or so the British popularity will be a minority. Made me wonder if the planet is getting to small for us?

Ill try my best to do no harm, just footprints :) Also they are very well cared for its just all the decent places to actually set up a tent have been taken and are littered and vandalised by chavs trying to use and axe :lmao: But the woods are basically all on a hill. They manage well...

I suppose I could leave the axe. I was just thinking about splitting wood, but nevermind. As for the knives thats an error I meant to put knife lol. I dont have a problem with going up a day early to set up the tent and get the basics together then bring up other things such as tools etc.

I'd really like to try some simple stuff that you would learn on a fundamental course for example shelter, different woods to burn and finding natural fuel, identifying useful trees and plants and also maybe some carving projects (my first didnt go quite so well). Basic things like that.

I still need to check the area for water sources, please keep in mind that this is not a test of my survival skills, much rather and escape to somewhere where I can focus on my building of skills and other things. I have a small first aid kit that I can take with me. Boiling is the best way to...

yes I have experienced damage with my sharp knife. I have two knives, one knife used for vigorous tasks such as heavy carving and using it with firesteel, and the other for more delicate things. My steel knife(not so sharp) is a folding blade that is about 3" long and then theres my lucky Buck...

Yes, the local woods (Guisborough woods) are pretty much dominated by the remains of chav campsites (Im sure everyone has witnessed this atrocity) but the ones I am thinking about heading for are ones well out of reach of the local boozers and campers, quite a walk but I'm am willing to do it...

Going out for the first time...

That I also need to take into account, I think it would take me far too much effort to find out as the woodlands are not tended to and hardly public, I'm hoping to remain a ghost and try to cause as little harm to the environment as possible because everytime I go camping with my friends they...
