    Barefoot boot recommendations

normally a 7 to 7 1/2 shoe. Am I right in thinking that barefoot shoes aren't always measured the same?

    Barefoot boot recommendations

My current walking boots are in need of being replaced very soon and I've been thinking about barefoot boots as an alternative. They will be used on a daily basis to walk to work (but not at work, that would be a health and safety nightmare! :lmao:). So in my case that means a mile of road...

    Dead mouse in my Kelly

You have me beat on this one. I've found many dead mice in and around my kit (in my food, my bed, clothes, etc), but so far none in my kettle! :lmao:

    Replacement Silky Blades.

I was going to suggest Chains direct, I get most of my chainsaw chains from them and they are excellent (even when you order the wrong thing, they call to check!)

Sacrilegious Kent pattern re-shape and hang

nicely done :) I've seen a lot of reshapings of old axes that I would say ARE sacrilegious, but mostly because everyone tries to make a Viking or bearded axe (and make something that is a poor imitation of nasty film styled things!). This looks like an actual tool and the fact that it is going...

    Naturism

Anybody that follows me on social media will probably be aware of my infamous PPE post a couple of years ago. I spend most of my time alone in my own woodland/workshop and sometimes it get's warm and there are only so many layers one can take off! Granted, when I'm working there are areas that...

    DIY Smurf Poo?

historically everything that we use today has been used, stropping isn't a new thing. Modern abrasive polishing compounds such as smurf poo and autosol are just more commonly available and easy to use. A lot of the time people will get away with a sharpened but not stropped edge and just touch...

    Generators.

I've not built one, but I did have a 'silent' generator for a while. It was silenced by being housed in a steel box lined with acoustic eggbox foam, with space for ventilation as you say. Also being on rubber matting helped

    Generators.

Generators are something that I have a little experience of, sadly. I would say avoid the inverter ones unless you have to have something small and quiet; they are expensive to buy, prohibitively expensive to repair and are much more likely to breakdown when you need them than an old-style...

    Petrol - stabilising

I tried some stabilising stuff many years ago (not sure if it was stabil or something else now) and it seemed to work for some of my 4stroke tools, but others still didn't like it if left in the fuel tanks for more than a couple of months. These days (and the last decade or more) I've been...

Flint knapping or where to buy flint nodules.

there must be some other knappable stone in your area, even if it's not flint. Is there chert or similar there perhaps?

Repairing burn holes in synthetic clothing?

speaking as somebody that has more small holes in their synthetic clothing than most (I really shouldn't wear synthetics or polyblends whilst forging, welding and grinding!), they won't spread unless you can get your finger into it. Even then it's only likely to spread if you catch the hole on...

    05:30 Dartmoor 28th

I live just off the eastern edge of Dartmoor and I have to admit that the snow was a bit of a surprise when I stuck my head out of the door at 6am! Of course, by 8am it was back to alternate spells torrential rain and glorious sunshine

    EDC lighters or firemakers

I light several fires every day and in my pocket I have a cricket disposable lighter. The blowtorch style lighters are great in the wind, but sometimes the more feathery flame of a standard issue butane lighter or zippo style thing is actually more effective. Also on the electric vs flint...
