the great thread of outdoor tea

i don't know about you, but i think that tea is really important for the outdoorsmen. if you can make tea, you have everything you need to survive. it is a safe, pathogene-free drink. it warms you up. depending on what you use to make tea, it's good for your health, it increases your energy...

winter day(s) outdoors... and a couple of tips

sometimes you don't need a big fire... a small twig fire is easyer and quicker to light, and doesn't need a large amount of fuel. a twig fire, where to look for dry twigs when everything is covered in snow, and a simple way to support your teapot over the fire...

firemaking is, imo, the most important bushcraft skill to master... and the most difficult to really understand, because it needs A LOT of practice, and you don't even make fire every time you are outdoors. it doesn't matter how many times you read about making fire, you simply got to make it...

    spoon carving... my way!

i think that a spoon is more than a spatula with a depression :D... apart from being useful, the spoon should be graceful and pleasant to the eye. the most difficult part to make (for me) is the "neck" (i don't know if there is a specific word for it :o ), which should be elegantly curved...
