    Home made crayfish/eel trap.

Apparently the licence you need is not too difficult to get so why break the law and leave yourself open to prosecution?

    crab trapping

I have always been told that smelly foul almost decomposing meat/fish is best for crabs as they are the sea's scavengers but if the man who commercially fishes for them says fresh then I would be inclined to go along with this! Also don't restrict yourself the traps are ideal for catching eels...

    HEADS UP- Lidl Sleeping Bag

I have had a look at the sleeping bag too, and to be honest I don't think it's up to a lot I think you would be better advised to look at the "Vango" 3 & 4 season sleeping bags at "Go outdoors" at least they are going to keep you warm

    Bush cigar substitute?

I remember back to the late seventies when all of the cigarette manufacturers brought out herbal cigarettes at the same time, there must have been 12 different varities, I remember this as I was working in a large newsagents at the time so was given packets and packets of samples, and you can...

    Apologies if I'm being a newb :)

I am sure that no one would really mind if you took just one or two figs, it's not as if you're going to strip the lot now is it? Don't forget as you are on the coast the amount of stuff you can come up with at this time of the year should be greater than those further inland!

    Blackberrys?

I don't know if it's the same where all of you are but here in Norfolk we have got blackberries all the way through from the green ones right through to dried up and shrivelled ones, with many ripe and ready to pick although up until now I've been busy with wild plums, damsons and elderberries...

I am a total newbie too, planning to go out for the first time in a couple of weeks (got to tie up with wife being off work on a weekend so I can take my 7yr old) I just try to keep learning all the stuff I might need/ get prepared. At least you've got one up on me, you have already been out...

Are you embarrassed in what you do ?

The answer I'd give is "I am going to have a brew, do you want one?", but make no mistake peoples ignorance will never change no matter who they are, I am a 49 man married second time around, two young kids so you think I'd be past all this, but even my sister turns to me and says, "who do you...

    Bear Grylls New Knife

The knife however might still be worth buying whether or not you are looking to actually use it or not, how many of us when we read how much an unused Sinclair C5 has just sold for, say to ourselves, yes it was totally impractical, yes it was a piece of plastic rubbish, but I wish that I had...

    Bush cigar substitute?

Buy yourself some cigars and be damned, after all tobacco leaves are natural, it's no worse than drinking herbal tea!

Tesco Ultralite - Mummy Down Sleeping Bag

I bought one of these as well and paid about £13 in the Tesco sale, I have been impressed by the lightness of it, but view this as a bag for summer only, I have got a two season bag that is a lot warmer (allbeit a lot heavier) for a lightwieght bag for use in cold conditions visit Alpkit but be...

    Coffee and coffee grinding.

I normally grind the coffee at home in an electric grinder the day before I go, and have bought an inexpensive perculator £7.50 which is made of metal that will sit nicely on a grill above the embers. As per most food and drink it tastes a lot better sitting around the camp fire!

    Poundland Gear (Pic Heavy)

The Poundland in King's Lynn has led head lamps that are bright as well as Aluminium water bottles (about 800cc) although I prefer the ones in Morrisons sale, pretty beach scene but also with better quality stopper and caribiner and holds 1ltr - selling them off at £1.50

Who has a Dremel and what do you think ?

I have got a dremel and have used it for several years with not many problems. I have to agree the cutting discs don't last long, I would recommend a genuine dremel, but for flexi shaft, cutting discs, grinding stones etc I normally use B&Q own Pro line stuff, it seems to be every bit as good...

Brightness of my duel fuel lantern ?

Sorry if this is off subject but I am new here so please excuse me, I have got a Coleman two mantle lantern as well, when I went Beach fishing with a friend his old Tilley lamp lasted longer and burnt brighter, so I was going to get a Tilley until another friend told me about a sinle LED 4cell...

Very old canvas tent that needs waterproofing.

I don't think you can beat Fabsil, it's available in many sizes, the larger the quantity the lower the price (By volume) also if you're after steel tent pegs, try your local poundshop 10 for £1
