    Scottish hammock locations

Where have you been? The forests round callendar are pretty open but I've never used a hammock in anger.

    JALT (just another Lavvu thread!)

My plan for the weekend is to try and get out in mine. Not planned any mods quite yet.

    Stoves 101

Not a dig at anyone but it's slightly annoying how many YouTube folks load the gasifiers wrong.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

Relented and went for the highlander forces 66. Not quite as large volume , should be enough but it's very comfortable and adjustable might be as comfortable as my osprey!

    Graded surplus mess kits

i can't remember exactly what size it is tbh, I've got a smaller MSR pot that goes on my alpkit alchy stove no problem but it's a bit small and is a little tenuous on the gasifier. I'm just being cheap really, I've got a much larger pot with heat exchangers and stuff but I don't want that to get...

    Graded surplus mess kits

Anyone use them? I guess "unissued" is probably fine but do folks trust the lower more battered grades? I'm half looking for a bigger pot to go on my gasifier but I don't use it very often and it makes a hell of a mess of pots.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

Not tried them but I'm not sure they'll be long enough to give sufficient drop to actually sit on my hips.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

Guess the question is whether it'll fit properly even with the new belt.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

Oh no, plenty capacity. I could move hoose with a 100l! I'm 6'2" though I was hoping to get away with out webbing, don't really need the capacity.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

Long back. Not sure if gull wings are what I need. But on my hiking pack the waist belt sits on my waist and is quite padded.

    OD Bergen Hip Strap

I've recently purchased an old surplus Bergen, one of the olive ones on Endicotts rather than a newer DPM ones. I've read a few off hand comments about adding a useful hip belt does anyone have more detail? The current lower strap sits a couple of CM higher than is comfortable.

    Any Americans tell me if..

Must. Not. Read. YouTube comments... Argh I despair for humanity when I read the comments on nearly all videos on that site.

Survival Tin, or Mini BC kit?

If that solar torch is from pound land you'll find the torch is just a three led torch with some lithium batteries the solar panels isn't actually attached to anything... My other hobby is taking things apart..

Seyntex bivi - instructions on how to use it.

Excuse the bump... Any update with this bag, they or very similar ones are going cheap on eBay at the moment and i'm wondering if i could get away with it (£16) rather than getting the Hunka from alpkit.

    Alcohol Stove from deodorant can

Yeah its just one can I gently pressed the tapered end into the cup end then removed it and put it in the other way. The actual flame hole is just the size that the nozle used to be attached to. 30mm for the apeture and the cup is about 45mm. My one doesn't seem to have much trouble priming...

    Alcohol Stove from deodorant can

Thats pretty cool, though I'm using a cone type wind shield so the pot rests above the burner not on it so the side burner isn't ideal since it never gets pressurised.
