I have a Dawes Horizon, I've done about 1500 miles on it so far and I am very pleased with it. They have renamed the whole range in the last couple of years and the Horizon is now called the Galaxy.
Looks like they have now changed the whole cookset.

Right at the bottom of the page, new Crusader ll Cooking System.
Does anyone know what is happening with this company.
I ordered a czech ushanka from them a few days ago, have heard nothing from them and now their website has disappeared. I have emailed them and also tried their phone number and just get a continuous tone. Has anyone else had any problems...
I looked at the site today and its still doing the same thing.
Are they good people to deal with, I haven't used them before and am always wary of websites whose only contact is by email.
Does anyone know where they are based or their telephone number so that I can contact them.
Ta.
Really sorry to hear this news.
I visited Lakeland last year while staying up in the Lakes and found Mark to be really good helpful bloke.
Hopefully things will improve for you soon.
I thought the video was a bit odd, a promotional video that doesn't show the product it's promoting!!!
You can see that it has a new upper part on the windshield though and, as you say, it might be an improvement.
Stumbled on this video, have they changed the Crusader cooker design for 2011?
Looks like it might solve the meths burner problem (couple of tent pegs through the top of the windshield)

I popped into addlestone this morning and can confirm that they still have three of the East German ones in stock. They are the saw edged/keyhole ones and they are asking £20 each for them.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, I saw the thread the other day. I probably should have used that thread rather than starting a new one!
I think I will go with an SFA as it is tried and tested. I would maybe just like an axe that is a bit smaller to transport. I am surprised at the claims regarding limbing/felling...
I was all set to get an SFA when this came along and confused me no end. It seems on paper to be able to do the job of the SFA but is much more compact.
Has anyone tried one of these yet, if so what do you think of it. Should I stick to the SFA or does the portability of the Outdoors axe...
